SHOES FROM SPAIN TRIBUTE

Recently, Martinelli had the honor of participating in the luxurious exhibition “Cristóbal Balenciaga | Shoes from Spain Tribute.” Presented in Milan from February 21 to March 2, organized by the Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries. A look at the work of the Master of Haute Couture through his own eyes and towards the future. Our bold and ambitious commitment was to present three custom-designed models for three dresses, created in collaboration with Spanish artisanal workshops, where passion and craftsmanship are reflected in every detail.

A shoe was designed to reinterpret classic stilettos, merging tradition and avant-garde. Inspired by the Manila shawls, the shoe combines elegant textures and contrasts, embellishing the design. This creation enhances femininity and captures the essence of Balenciaga’s luxury and exuberance, redefining classic glamour with a bold proposal that complements the dress in volume and sophistication.

To complement Balenciaga’s silver EISA dress, a heeled sandal was designed, blending classic sophistication with a contemporary touch. Inspired by Ancient Rome, it combines textures and shimmering details, featuring a slender heel and silver leather straps that wrap around the ankle, evoking gladiator aesthetics. The contrast between the softness of silk and the metallic sheen enhances the dress’s aesthetic, while the silver details add opulence. This design highlights Roman majesty and perfectly complements the elegance of the dress.

To complement this magnificent tribute to Master Balenciaga, Golden Allure was designed— a dazzling golden high-heeled sandal that exudes luxury and sophistication. Covered in Swarovski crystals and featuring a sweetheart neckline, it enhances the splendor of the dress without competing with it. The low metallic heel reflects light, creating a dazzling effect. The straps, adorned with Swarovski cross details, delicately wrap around the foot and leg, balancing brilliance with subtlety. This design captures the essence of golden, radiant footwear, adding a touch of luxury that perfectly complements the opulence of the dress.

These designs represent a dialogue between our vision of fashion—always rooted in quality and craftsmanship— and the creations of the Master, who was constantly inspired by the excellence of “handmade” artistry and innovation.
